Presentations are appropriate for all age levels, and pre-registration is not needed but is recommended in busy spring months. This unique program is presented by teams of college, high school, and middle school students. Students Teaching Students Presenters will answer audience questions from the audience. This program is offered in the Zoo amphitheater and includes animal facts and the chance to get a close look at – and even touch – live animals. Applications do not become available until April 1st. All teens interested must complete an application form and submit a recent proof of negative TB test. This is a very competitive program and it includes a fee. Approximately 50 students are admitted each summer to work in special areas of the Zoo. The Summer Teen Program is a nine or ten week service-learning opportunity for students entering 8th-12th grade. These events fill up early, so a two-week notice is recommended. Contact the Education Department to request more information and receive a registration form. The minimum rate for groups smaller than 15 is $525. FEE: $35 per person, with a minimum group size of 15 people. This is a very popular program for scouts and other youth organizations. After “indoor-camping,” participants eat an outdoor breakfast and receive a certificate. Spend the night at the Zoo and enjoy a pizza party, flashlight tour of the zoo, and a “batty” bed-time story. Starlight Safari Sleepover – Night at the Zooįor groups with kids ages 7 and up. No pets are allowed on Zoo grounds for the safety of the animals and the guests.Spring Break Camp – Enroll your child for a week-long camp during Spring Break. Outside drinks besides water are permitted in the zoo. Visitors should note that the Coyote Cafe, the Asian Grille, Pizzooria, Dippin' Dots, and various extra food carts are closed and are re-open during peak visitation times. The Oasis (main concession stand) and Lion's Pride (concession stand) are often the only food stands open, but many beverage vending machines are available throughout the area. Cycles of any kind are not permitted in the location.įor visitors' convenience, concession stands are available with a wide variety of food and beverage options. Guests are encouraged to bring their wheelchair, stroller or wagon. If guests need a wheelchair, they are available for rent at the Zoofari Market Gift Shop. Group rates are also available.Īll facilities within the zoo are accessible by wheelchair. Children ages 2 – 13 pay $9.50, and seniors 65 and over receive a discounted admission cost of $12.50.
